ot these to leave space for another 16G later if needed in my ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with a 6 core FX (highest speed at 95W for heat control) AMD FX 6100 6-Core Processor, 3.3 6 Socket AM3+ - FD6100WMGUSBX. When booted, the chips were seen and clocked correctly at 1600.

Scores 7.8 on Win7 score. When running board at standard overclock setting, the MB throttles it back down to 1445 but it does so automatically while increasing CPU core and NB Freq up. So these chips are 100% compatible. I'm not a fan of the higher profile memory heat sinks so these are good sticks for the $$$.

It's hard to speak to brands being better or worse than one another, since price point is largely what defines product quality with most electronics. I've bought Corsair and Patriot memory before, but heard these recommended and at the very least, I didn't get factory lemons when I unpackaged and swapped these. No compatibility hiccups, so these will be my go-to choice for upgrades for the next few years.

Purchased back in December 2012. Shipping speed was good, package was a little beat up but it had bubble wrap so I wasn't too worried. Installed easily and worked great up until a few months ago when one stick died. Ran for a couple more days before the other died too. Previous RAM ran for 3 years on this machine without "heat spreaders" or any of that other nonsense. I formerly built commissioned towers on the daily so I know it's not the other components, and it's strictly a business machine so there are no mods or overclocking.

So idk... Guess it did what I needed it to for a good while, and higher speeds tend to degrade components faster but still... not even half a year?

Get the extended warranty!
